Oct 21st Pawtucket, RI Spanish Why Israel?
On Sunday, October 21st, our CUFI National Hispanic Outreach conducted a Spanish-Speaking Why Israel? Event in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. This event was set up by Pastor Dr. Santos Escobar of Vida Abundante United Methodist Church who committed to hosting CUFI events with his congregation and others as a result of him going to Israel with CUFI earlier this year on our first-ever Spanish-speaking Hispanic Pastors Israel Trip. In this particular case, this event was hosted by his Bible students, Pastors Carlos and Joanna Orellana of Ministerio Internacional Vida Real. It’s worth noting that Pastors Orellana are Guatemalan, and they share the same staunch pro-Israel views as historically and presently shared by Guatemala and the majority of Guatemalan Christians in Guatemala, the U.S., and beyond. An estimated 112 people attended this event and united with their Pastors’ Orellana in becoming CUFI members, joining our Daughters For Zion Prayer Network, and giving offerings towards our CUFI On Campus work. They also expressed great interest in attending our CUFI Washington DC Summit next year. We believe this event was just the beginning of this congregation standing with, speaking up for, and steadfastly supporting Israel!
El domingo 21 de octubre, nuestro alcance hispano nacional de CUFI llevó a cabo un evento de habla hispana “Por qué Israel?” en Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Este evento fue coordinado por el pastor Dr. Santos Escobar de la Iglesia Metodista Unida Vida
Abundante que se comprometió a acoger eventos de CUFI con su congregación y otras como resultado de que él fue a Israel con CUFI a principios de este año en nuestro primer viaje a Israel en Español con Pastores hispanos. En este caso particular, este evento fue acogido por sus estudiantes de la Biblia, los pastores Carlos y Joanna Orellana del Ministerio Internacional Vida Real. Vale la pena notar que los Pastores Orellana son guatemaltecos, y comparten las misma postura firme a favor de Israel que históricamente y actualmente comparten Guatemala y la mayoría de los cristianos guatemaltecos en Guatemala, Estados Unidos y más allá. Se estima que 112 personas asistieron a este evento y se unieron con sus Pastores Orellana para hacerse miembros de CUFI, unirse a nuestra red de intercesión Hijas Por Sion, y para dar ofrendas hacia nuestro trabajo de CUFI En Campus. También expresaron gran interés en asistir a nuestra Cumbre de CUFI en Washington DC el próximo año. ¡Creemos que este evento fue sólo el comienzo de esta congregación ponerse de pies con, hablar a favor de, y apoyar firmemente a Israel!
