November 20 – Israel Rally – Sacramento, CA
Over two hundred people attended a solidarity event at California’s Capitol in Sacramento. The display depicting 239 empty chairs at a Shabbat table, each with a picture of a hostage captured by Hamas on Oct7, was part of CUFI’s ‘Don’t Look Away’ campaign and was a joint effort of CUFI and the Sacramento Jewish Federation, with set up support from several area churches and synagogues. Leaders from both organizations addressed the crowd on the Capitol’s west steps during a brief remembrance ceremony, and the display remained through the day.
