Morocco’s king congratulates Israeli PM Bennett, vows to promote peace in region

Israel’s premier responded that he would “work to reinforce Israeli-Moroccan relations in all areas”
Morocco’s King Mohammed VI on Wednesday became the latest signatory of the Abraham Accords to offer his country’s and his personal congratulations to newly installed Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.
In his letter, the monarch declared that his kingdom would continue to promote peace in the region, the Prime Minister’s Office announced.
“I take this opportunity to emphasize that Morocco has adhered to its role and efforts to bring about a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, to guarantee that all peoples in the region live side by side in a peaceful, stable environment,” the king’s letter added.
In response, Bennett, to whom the king personally extended “warm greetings and best wishes for great success” following his entry into office this week, responded that “Israel sees Morocco as an important friend and partner in advancing peace and security in the region.”
