September 15 – Why Israel – Deerfield, NJ
After coming with CUFI on a Pastor’s Israel trip, Pastor Dr. Kenneth Larter returned to the states a Christian Zionist. He went to work with his board of elders to remove the Deerfield Presbyterian Church (founded almost 300 years ago!) out from the staunchly anti-Israel Presbyterian USA denomination and has continue to work with CUFI.
In November, 2020 in the face of a rising tide of Antisemitism, the congregation of Deerfield commissioned a monument in the churchyard in memory of the Jews murdered in the Holocaust. A small crowd gathered at the monument to pray for the peace of Jerusalem before the Why Israel event where others joined us in the fellowship hall of the church.
