October 18 – Holocaust Memorial Re-Dedication – Des Moines, IA
CUFI was invited to attend the re-dedication of the Holocaust Memorial on the grounds of the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. The event had been planned for the October 7th invasion of Israel by Hamas, as the state legislature’s $100,000 expenditure to restore the memorial had been completed shortly before. This event was well attended, and Ministry Engagement Coordinator Bob Scott was able to speak with Governor Reynolds during the day of this event about the work of CUFI in Iowa and pending legislative issues. Governor Reynolds remarked that if there was any work CUFI wanted to do in Iowa that she would work to help push it through because of the importance of Israel.
