IDF: Attempted Car-Ramming, Shooting Attack Carried Out In West Bank


An attempted terror attack targeting IDF soldiers was carried out in the West Bank city of Jenin Saturday afternoon, according to an Israeli military statement.

Two suspected Palestinian assailants attempted a car-ramming attack against IDF soldiers before opening fire on troops stationed at a nearby checkpoint.

No injuries have been reported in the incident.

The IDF stated that “two vehicles were stationed at a military checkpoint near the village of Ya’bad in the area of ​​the Menashe Brigade.”

“After completing an inspection of the first vehicle, the [two alleged] terrorists in the second vehicle rushed toward IDF fighters who were at the checkpoint in an attempt to run them over. The vehicle hit an IDF fighter who did not need medical attention.”

An Israeli Defense Forces unit is currently combing the area for potential suspects after the assailant was able to elude capture.

The suspect’s weapon was reportedly left behind at the scene.
