February 13 – Why Israel? – Mint Hill, NC

The congregation of the host church is from Myanmar, formerly called Burma. The message of CUFI resonates greatly to Myanmar Americans. Many of them came to America as refugees and can strongly relate to the plight of the Jewish people, in their struggle to be able to live in peace and freely exercise their faith in their own homeland. Burmese Americans flee to the United States to escape persecution. It is important to note that hundreds of people called the Cochin Jews used to call Myanmar home, and many of them have already made Aliyah to Israel.  After the presentation many of them said to me that it opened their eyes to the truth, and they saw the importance of standing with the Jewish people and Israel.
