October 27 – New Rochelle, NY
On Sunday, October 27th, our CUFI National Hispanic Outreach Coordinator Rev. Peter De Jesus and his wife Rev. Mildred De Jesus conducted a Why Israel bilingual event in New Rochelle, New York at Refuge of Hope Church. This event was the second one of this year hosted by Pastors Clara and Mariano Rivera who was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame earlier this year as the greatest relief pitcher of all time. As a result, approximately 50 of their congregants attended this event and received a CUFI presentation which focused on combating Anti-Semitism via the biblical mandate for Christians to stand in solidarity with Israel and the Jewish people. It was great to see some of the congregants join their Pastors Rivera in becoming new members of CUFI, in addition to finding out about Pastors Rivera’s plans to take a group of their leaders and congregants to our 2020 DC Summit. Additionally, it is very exciting to note that Mariano Rivera is helping us gather a group of professional baseball players and businessmen to go to Israel next year. We look forward to further collaborating with Pastors Rivera in sharing with Hispanic Evangelicals the importance of them standing with Israel in our nation and beyond!
