What “Globalize the Intifada” really means
The Second Intifada—an uprising of Palestinian violence against Israelis—was more deadly than the first. Suicide bombings became a regular occurrence in Israel. No one was safe from terrorists. Over 1,000 Israelis were murdered in terrorist attacks during this period.
In one deadly episode, two IDF soldiers accidentally entered the Palestinian Authority-controlled town of Ramallah, where they were arrested by Palestinian police and attacked by an angry mob that stormed the Palestinian police station in the city. On October 12, 2000, First Corporal Yosef Avrahami and First Sergeant Vadim Norzhich—both 33-year-old reservists—were severely beaten, mutilated, and ultimately lynched (may their memories be a blessing).
Today, Israelis continue to be targeted by terrorist attacks. As anti-Israel protesters chant, “Globalize the Intifada” in purported support for the Palestinian cause, we must stand up and speak out for Zion’s sake against this hatred and terrorism.
