Weekly Reflection – The Blessing of Blessing Israel
And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of Mine, you did it for Me.’
— MATTHEW 25:40
As Christians, it is not possible for us to love Jesus Christ and hate the Jewish people. Instead, Paul tells the Gentiles to be grateful for Jesus’s brethren for they have given us the Word of God, the patriarchs— Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the prophets of Israel, the first family of Christianity—Mary, Joseph, and Jesus—the twelve disciples, and so much more (Romans 15:27). Remember this truth— Judaism does not need Christianity to explain its existence, however, Christianity cannot explain its existence without Judaism.
Today, as antisemitism skyrockets around the world, it’s our duty and privilege to repay our debt of gratitude to the Jewish people with our prayers and decisive action. Find out how you can stand with Israel and the Jewish people—visit cufi.org/warroom today.
