Weekly Reflection – The Birth of a Nation
Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Can a land be born in one day? Can a nation be given birth all at once? As soon as Zion was in labor, she also delivered her sons.
— Isaiah 66:8
We serve a God who restores what is broken and brings dead things back to life again. The same God who commanded Israel to live again divinely oversaw the rebirth of the modern State of Israel in 1948 (Ezekiel 37).
God’s restoration of the dead bones of a nation speaks to His honor and to the integrity of His Word. The rebirth of Israel was astonishing and complete as He promised. Take heart and know that in all things God is glorified and His Name magnified above all names so that the world may know that He is God and that He has spoken His Word and performed it as promised (Ezekiel 37:13-14).
If there’s one thing that’s certain, God is the Giver of the life. Even in this dark moment for the nation of Israel, the God of Israel is preserving life and protecting the Apple of His Eye. Praise God for His divine providence even on our most difficult days!
