Weekly Reflection – Live by Faith

“… but the just shall live by faith.”

HABAKKUK 2:4

Habakkuk was surrounded by rampant unrighteousness and asked God, “Why?” This highly revered prophet had absolute trust in the Almighty that no matter the severity of the unjust conditions surrounding his life, the Lord would intervene on his behalf.

The apostle Paul took Habakkuk’s statement on faith and made it the heart of the Gospel (Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38). Both men believed that righteousness could only be obtained through trust in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Both men encouraged believers to depend on Him for all things in order to live life as He meant it to be lived.

As you consider the trials and difficulties facing you this week, remember—Almighty God is ready and willing to sustain you in every one of them! Just as He will keep Israel during her war with Hamas, He is keeping you.
