The True Heart of Israel: Operation Good Neighbor
In Scripture, the Lord promises that Israel will be a “blessing among the nations” (Zechariah 8:13). Scripture also says that in Abraham and his descendants “all the families of the world” will be “blessed” (Genesis 12:3).
Since the re-establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, the Jewish people have faced the resurgence of age-old antisemitic hatred in new forms and different masks. One of these is the antisemitic lie that paints Israel as an aggressor against the Arab nations which surround it, when in reality Israel is the target of incessant—and violent—Arab refusal to recognize, negotiate with, or make peace with the Jewish state.
A closer look at Israel proves the abominable and ridiculous claim that Israel is an oppressor demonstrably false.
Though Israel and Syria have officially been at war since 1948, in 2016 Israel undertook a massive project called Operation Good Neighbor to aid those affected by the Syrian civil war—risking the lives of Israeli citizens to aid the citizens of an enemy state. Israel’s actions toward its neighbors demonstrate the true heart of Israel is one of deep compassion
