Pastor John Hagee Addresses Antisemitism in Right-Wing Circles in Remarks at the Embassy of Israel

WASHINGTON – Pastor John Hagee, founder and Chairman of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, delivered remarks this evening at the Jerusalem Post Conference hosted by the Embassy of Israel in Washington. According to his prepared remarks, Hagee directly confronted the growing presence of antisemitic rhetoric within segments of the American right and urged Christian leaders to clearly repudiate it.

In the speech, Hagee told attendees, “You cannot call yourself a Christian and hate the Jewish state or its people… Bible-believing Christians know that nothing prevails over the Word of God—not your politics, not your political party, not your favorite pundit.”

His remarks come as conservative politics faces internal strain over Israel, with recent reporting documenting the rise of right-wing voices distancing the movement from its historically strong support for the Jewish state and, in some cases, amplifying antisemitic or explicitly anti-Israel themes. Hagee’s comments stressed that Christian support for Israel is grounded in Scripture, citing Genesis 12:3 and Deuteronomy 7:6, and affirmed that “antisemitism is sin.”

“Like their predecessors, the modern enemies of Israel—be they in Congress, on college campuses, in our churches, or in the sands of Qatar— they will all come to know that there is no expiration date on God’s unambiguous warning: ‘Dare not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm’ (Psalm 105:15),” he said.

“Those in this country who have monetized Jew-hatred and are actively turning antisemitism into clicks and cash—they are both biblically ignorant and morally bankrupt,” Hagee added.

The Pastor also warned about foreign efforts to influence public debate on Israel, including Qatar’s extensive spending in American education, entertainment and media urging Christians to remain vigilant and to “stiffen our spines and vote out of office every antisemitic voice in Washington,” regardless of political affiliation.

“Tonight, we cannot ignore the demonic spirit of Jew-hatred that has become normalized in certain circles, on both the right and the left. This is not random. This is not a coincidence. What has happened in our nation is not organic activism; it is paid anarchy. Hello, Qatar, we see you,” Hagee thundered.

With more than 10 million members, Christians United for Israel is the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States and one of the leading Christian grassroots movements in the world. CUFI spans all fifty states and reaches millions with its educational message.

The CUFI Action Fund, a nonprofit 501(c)(4) nonpartisan organization, is the policy arm of Christians United for Israel (CUFI). The Action Fund works to ensure elected officials hear the perspective of millions of Christian Zionists across the country.
