Christians United for Israel Launches National Ad Campaign
On Thursday, Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, launched a national, multi-platform advertising campaign as part of an effort to educate Americans about the true nature of Hamas.
Full-page ads are running in today’s print editions of the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times. On Friday full page ads will run in USA Today, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Denver Post, the Chicago Sun Times, and the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Simultaneously, CUFI is running web-based advertisements on several top news and Christian websites including Fox News, the Christian Post, and Beliefnet, among several others, and has launched an email action alert to its 1.8 million members.
The campaign seeks to accomplish two goals. The first is to eliminate the moral confusion in the American media when it comes to the true nature and goals of Hamas. The second goal is to remind Secretary of State Kerry of the true nature and goals of Hamas. CUFI asks readers to visit www.cufi.org/hamas and email Secretary of State John Kerry, informing him in part “Now is not the time to ease the legal and justified blockade of Gaza. Now is the time to destroy Hamas’ terror tunnels, remove Hamas’ missile stockpiles, and demilitarize Gaza.”
“Nearly 5,000 Christians were just in Washington to tell our elected officials that Israel has a right to defend herself, yet the Obama Administration seems to have missed the memo. The President and Sec. Kerry need to remember that American support for Israel isn’t tepid or lukewarm, it’s unwavering – especially in times of crisis,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.
“When we Americans fought Al Qaeda, we understood the moral distinctions between terrorists and a democracy seeking to defend itself from them. This moral clarity should not blur at ocean’s edge. Israel is a democracy defending itself – and us – from the Palestinian equivalent of Al Qaeda, Hamas. We must stand unequivocally with Israel,” said CUFI executive director David Brog.
Christians United for Israel is the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States and one of the leading Christian grassroots movements in the world. CUFI spans all fifty states and reaches millions with its message. Each year CUFI holds hundreds of pro-Israel events in cities around the country. And each July, thousands of pro-Israel Christians gather in Washington, D.C. to participate in the CUFI Washington Summit and make their voices heard in support of Israel and the Jewish people.
