CUFI Welcomes Senate Passage of STOP Using Human Shields Act
October 12, 2018 WASHINGTON – On Friday, Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization, applauded Senate passage of the STOP Using Human Shields Act (S. 3257).
CUFI has backed this legislation since its introduction during the annual CUFI Washington Summit in July. In addition to CUFI’s 5,000 Summit attendees lobbying their elected officials in support of this bill at that time, CUFI members have since sent more than 34,000 emails to senators asking them to cosponsor the bill.
“Our team has worked very hard to ensure this legislation moves forward. It is our top priority for the remainder of the year. The appalling practice of hiding behind the skirts of women and the bodies of children in order to attack neighboring innocent civilians must be condemned, undermined and thwarted at every turn. I look forward to the House swiftly passing this bill and the President signing it into law,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee.”
With more than 4.3 million members, Christians United for Israel is the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States and one of the leading Christian grassroots movements in the world. CUFI spans all fifty states and reaches millions with its message. Each year CUFI holds hundreds of pro-Israel events in cities around the country. And each July, thousands of pro-Israel Christians gather in Washington, D.C. to participate in the CUFI Washington Summit and make their voices heard in support of Israel and the Jewish people.
