The lively Jewish festival of Purim celebrates Queen Esther, the courageous Jewish woman who revealed Haman’s wicked plot to destroy every Jew in Persia, which is modern-day Iran. Because of the bravery of Esther and her uncle, Mordechai, the Jewish people were spared from genocide.

One of the most jubilant holidays on the Jewish calendar, dating back thousands of years, Purim reminds us that no force – whether ancient or modern – which attempts to annihilate the Lord’s people will prevail.

Purim is the Hebrew word for “lots” because Haman cast lots to determine the day he would murder every last Jew. Little did Haman know that those whom the Lord has consecrated will never be destroyed – not by the ancient Persians nor by the Iranian regime or its proxies, Hamas, Hezbollah, or the Houthis.

This year, Purim, beginning March 13th and ending March 14th, confirms God’s faithfulness and the resiliency of the Jewish people even as Israel’s enemies plot her destruction.
