Weekly Reflection – Trust in God
Weekly Reflection – Trust in God
“I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustains me.”
— Pslam 3:5
David did not pen this psalm after a day of leisure on the beautiful shores of Eilat, but while fleeing from his son, Absalom, who had staged a coup to steal his crown. Even while Absalom sat in David’s palace and proclaimed himself king, the one whom God had anointed wrote of the peaceful sleep he had while in the wilderness. How was this possible? It was so because David placed his trust in God. Though David’s son dishonored him, and his enemies mocked him and believed God had abandoned him, David knew better. He recognized that the Lord—not his crown—was his shield, his glory, and the One who would exalt him at the proper time (Psalm 3:1-4).
This week, praise God for how He will bring Israel victory in her war against the Hamas barbarians. Thank Him for how He will also bring you victory in your battles as you trust Him!
