Weekly Reflection – His Boundless Abundance

And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

While imprisoned in Rome, the Apostle Paul penned a letter of encouragement to his fellow believers of Philippi. Paul thanked them for the material support they gave him and firmly declared that whether in adverse or favorable circumstances, he was confident that he ‘can do all things through Christ who strengthens [him]’ (Philippians 4:13).

Paul’s letter reminded the Philippians that when he began his ministry no church gave but theirs. Paul’s grateful spirit became a memorial to his steadfast supporters, for his epistle was read not only in the churches of his time but throughout the ages. Paul was thankful that these righteous men and women consistently gave of their material wealth, taking into account what they received from Paul in spiritual blessings through the teachings of Christ.
