CUFI’s Word of The Week – A REMINDER FROM ROSES

“The grass withers,

And the flower fades,

But the word of our God endures forever.”

Isaiah 40:8

Flowers are beautiful. For those who tend to a garden or nurture potted plants throughout their homes, it’s a thrill to watch God’s handiwork grow, bloom, and flourish. But eventually, all flowers wither and die. God’s creation invites us to consider the dichotomy between the God’s eternal nature—and our own mortality.

The good news of the gospel is that God has caused us to be born again through an imperishable seed—the living and enduring word of God (1 Peter 1:23-25). While false gospels and false messiahs come and go, promising life but eventually fading to dust, the gospel preached to us “endures forever.”

This week, consider God’s creation. Ponder its beauty, and let it be a reminder that God’s word will stand for all time. His word—about you, about this world, about eternity—will always be true and will come to pass. Rest in that truth.
