Depart John F. Kennedy International Airport flying overnight to Israel.

Day 2 ~ Wednesday, April 19, 2023
Tel Aviv/Galilee
Arrive Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, directly on the Mediterranean Sea and Israel’s largest city. Travel north along the Israeli coastline to Caesarea, the Roman capital of Judea. View the beautiful restored Roman Theater, and the ruins of the ancient town. Continue to the Galilee for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 ~ Thursday, April 20, 2023
Begin the morning with a visit to Magdala, home of Mary Magdalene where a newly excavated first century synagogue was discovered, currently the oldest in the Galilee and one of only seven from that period in all of Israel. Onto Mount of Beatitudes, the site of the Sermon on the Mount. Proceed to Kibbutz Misgav Am, which sits on the border between and Lebanon, looks northward over the green hills of south Lebanon. Misgav-Am remains the northernmost kibbutz in Israel, surrounded on three sides by Israel’s border with Lebanon. Continue to the Golan Heights, seeing the former Syrian fortifications and learning the key role this area plays to Israel’s safety. Hear the moving account of what occurred in the Valley of Tears from Rani Levy. Continue for a special IDF visit with emphasis on the role of Israeli female combat soldiers defending her borders.

Day 4 ~ Friday, April 21, 2023
This morning visit Join together for a special service on the waters of the Sea of Galilee. Then, visit Capernaum, residence of Jesus during his ministry in the Galilee and the site of several of his miracles. Onto Visit Ancient Shiloh, one of the main centers of Israelite worship during the pre-monarchic period. Once home to Hannah and Samuel, the Tent Shrine and Ark of the Covenant. Continue your journey through the Judean Desert up to Jerusalem, with a special blessing atop Mount Scopus upon arrival. Usher in the peace and sanctity of Shabbat by lighting candles, before gathering at the Western Wall (Kotel) for the traditional bringing in of the Sabbath. Enjoy a special home hospitality and Shabbat dinner together with a host family.

Day 5 ~ Saturday, April 22, 2023
Morning visit to St. Peter in Gallicantu Church, overlooking the Kidron Valley and Caiphas’ House. Ascend Mount Zion and continue to view Zion Gate en route to the Upper Room of the Last Supper. Enjoy the panoramic view of the Old City atop the Mount of Olives, followed by a visit to the Garden of Gethsemane in their private garden, with communion. Visit St. Anne’s Church and the Pool of Bethesda. Gather for a special Havdalah service, which is a Jewish religious ceremony or formal prayer marking the end of the Sabbath.

Day 6 ~ Sunday, April 23, 2022
Experience Ir David, the City of David with an exciting journey both above and below ground through excavations, fortresses and passageways, walking through the Canaanite tunnel, ending with a visit to the Southern Steps. Then, visit the Western Wall Tunnels, experiencing more than 2,000 years of history. Special speaker, Rabbi Pesach Wolicki this evening. Rabbi Pesach Wolicki serves as the Associate Director of the Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding & Cooperation.

Day 7 ~ Monday, April 24, 2023
Begin this morning, with an unforgettable visit to the Memorial to the Holocaust at Yad Vashem, with a focus on “Her Story”. Visit the Israel Museum and the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed and the Model of Jerusalem at the time of the second Temple. Visit to the colorful and exciting Machane Yehuda for lunch. Continue to Yvel and the Megemeria School of Jewelry. The school teaches Jewish Ethiopian immigrants the art of jewelry making, diamond setting and jewelry design. Special evening program related to Memorial Day, following dinner.

Day 8 ~ Tuesday, April 25, 2023
National Memorial Day

Morning visit to Mount Herzl, the site of Israel’s national cemetery, visiting a site of a brave female soldier. At 11:00A the sirens sound for 2 minutes, for a moment of silence to remember those who died for the state of Israel. Take part in the public remembrance ceremony, while hearing the Prime Minister speak. Join in singing the Hatikva with the people of Israel. This afternoon, continue to Bethlehem, visiting Shepherd’s Field and Manger Square located at the Church of the Nativity.

Day 9 ~ Wednesday, April 26, 2023

Independence Day

Drive into Judean wilderness and ascend by cable car to Masada to marvel King Herod’s desert fortress-palace and last stronghold of the Jewish zealots against the Roman domination in 73CE. Pass by the Qumran Caves where the famous Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered before arriving at the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth at almost 1300 feet below sea level. Enjoy a Dead Sea Swim before returning to Jerusalem for a special Farewell Dinner. Evening transfer to the airport with assistance in departure for flight to the United States.
